#DestapaSuFuturo with Coca-Cola and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund!
We are at the doorsteps of college and all I can think about right now is how I felt, holding my baby boy for the very first time many years ago and now it’s time to think about college apps, careers and life goals. I want to be ready for it. I currently have several family members in universities right now. They are the first generation to attend a university and my whole familia proudly stands behind them. My son has 3 cousins to look up to. If he sets his eyes on an out of state university or a local hometown college, both my husband and I need to be prepared to support our son in every single way we can.

There is no doubt in my mind that he will continue on to college, as for a career, well, that is still in the works. My fear as a mom is where am I going to get the finances to support his dream. As a freshman in high school, I am already asking my son where he would like to attend college? He has aimed as high as Florida State and San Diego to Fresno State and Washington. My eyes grew big as he spoke those words and our bank accounts grew smaller and smaller.
How will we afford this? How will I even begin the process of college apps and so forth? If my family can do it, then so can I. If and when we reach our goals of getting his grades and GPA at college standards, I know there is information about scholarship at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
From now through October 31st, you and your student can apply for a scholarship at www.hsf.net/cocacola. There is a simple application process and in my humble opinion, a jump start for any scholarship process. If you are a mom or dad, I want to encourage you to sign-up at HSF application and poke around and read the wealth of information that is on the site. If you are a student that is looking into applying for scholarships, I also want to invite you to take a look at the site and familiarize yourself with the application and the requirements. It doesn’t cost you anything but time.
