Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival!

I personally don’t celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) but I know and recognize the significance this special holiday has on my culture.   This is the reason why I want to share this with you. If you live in Southern California then you have to know of Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary.  I grew up very close to Rose Hills. Yes’s a cemetery. It’s a very beautiful cemetery with gorgeous landscaping. I have been there for many “unfortunate” cases and have always been fascinate with the park.
On October 28, Rose Hills is celebrating the 3rd Annual Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival with many activities for the whole familia.Check out the fun:

  • An art exhibit inside the SkyRose Chapel showcasing the talents of various artists, featuring artist Raul Pizarro.
  • Special arts & crafts activities for children include mini workshops and interactive activities;
  • Food court;
  • Local vendor area;
  • Full program of performances and entertainment including Tierra Blanca folklórico group, Mariachi Trompetas de Mexico and a special performance by the band Conjunto Los Pochos.

In addition, you can create an altar and enter the community altar contest featuring a corridor for display and celebration.
