Create a Family Movie Night with Phase 4 Films!
We’re in the last week of summer vacation. With my husband being unemployed, having a fun “Family Movie Night” on a budget can be kind of tight. We rarely go to the movies because it’s way too expensive. One way of surviving the long summer was having plenty of movie nights at home.
3 special movies that we saw were:
I Heart Shakey
Starring Steve Lemme of Broken Lizard and Steve Guttenberg, I Heart Shakey follows J.T., and his daughter Chandler as they move from a small town to Chicago where they are forced to find their lovable mutt Shakey a new home. Chandler hatches a plan to keep Shakey and teaches her dad a valuable lesson about loyalty and the importance of keeping family together.
This is especially fun if you have pets at home. We just got a doggie and the kids were finally able to relate to a movie that deals with pets. There’s laughter, adventure and some sad scenes. Overall, I really liked this movie. Perfect for any movie night at home.
Featuring the voice of Glee’s Jane Lynch, Rockstars is an animated film about Gloria and Barry, two earthworms who attempt to make the world’s greatest disco band.
Got future rockstars in your famiy? Kids who love the beats and sounds of music? Music and song is how Gloria and Berry find way to have the band of their dreams. Again, my little ones (5 and 7) were more into the movie than my teen.
My Friend Bernard
This animated movie follows Sam and his polar bear sidekick Bernard. Bernard helps Sam conquer his fears and stand up to scary monsters with bravery and humor.
This movie is sweet and cute. There are some issues that caters to the older audience. My little ones were interested in the film and it kept my13 year old somewhat entertained. I feel that the movie not only deals with the issues of Sam being shy but it deals with friendships and relationships while keeping the adventures fun with Bernard and his friends.
