Coming soon to DVD and Blu-ray, The Lorax

The Lorax is coming to DVD and Blu-ray August 7, 2012!

I saw “The Lorax” for the very first time, yesterday.  Yes, I just saw it. I loved it.  I loved it. I loooooved it.  It’s not everyday that I see a movie that I just really take to heart. There’s truth and reality to the whole entire story.  Here is the trailer and the synopsis:

The imaginative world of Dr. Seuss comes to life like never before in this visually spectacular adventure from the creators of Despicable Me! Twelve-year-old Ted will do anything to find a real live Truffula Tree in order to impress the girl of his dreams. As he embarks on his journey, Ted discovers the incredible story of the Lorax, a grumpy but charming creature who speaks for the trees. Featuring the voice talents of Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Rob Riggle, Jenny Slate, and Betty White, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is filled with hilarious fun for everyone!

My kids went to the theater to see the movie.  I just got a copy for me to review.  From the start to the movie to the credits at the end, I really enjoyed the movie.   There is SOOOO much for all of us to learn and really take to heart from the message.   The whole story behind the movie is the fact that we need trees.  We NEED trees. It teaches kids to think about the environment and see first hand what life can be like if we don’t take care of our precious planet.

The humor is more cute than funny.  The animals are so freaking adorable.  There are no scary scenes and  my kids, 5 and 7, understood the moral behind the movie. I love Dr. Seuss!

One fascinating fact that I love about visiting the east coast is the green that is everywhere.  I love seeing it from high above in the plane and visiting and driving through it as I visit a company.  The trees are so green and the air is so fresh.  There is all shades of green and the grass is just heavenly.  Take it from this So Cal girl, you live in a beautiful world.  It’s the complete opposite of what I see everyday, here in Cali.  One of my dreams is to visit the east coast during the fall.  To all the eastcoasters, please take care of the trees.  Treasure them and really take care of the value that each tree offers to you, your kids and for future generations….

I LOVE The Lorax! The book was great. I remember reading it in grade school. The movie – way fun! My favorite is their use of colors and the music. I can’t get it out of my head! I’m thinking of downloading the soundtrack so we can listen to it in the car. And I agree, it’s a GREAT message.
