Travelling Seeds – Wandering Plants: Sometimes people bring seeds from one place to another and plant them in a garden or field and other times seeds get planted on their own. Seeds travel by sailing on the wind, floating in water, and by hitching a ride on animals. Play a part in the journey as we explore how plants migrate from one place to another.

At Home in California: Coming by land, sea and air, people, plants and animal have all found their way to California and now call this place home. Wildlife, cultivated plants and people all weave threads of many cultures into the rich fabric of our shared heritage. Bring a unique item that represents you or your ancestors’ contribution to our shared experience. The item could be a photograph, a food item, fabric, toy, map or any special item that fits into a tote. Let’s see what stories we can pull out of your bag!
