Don’t Fret the Sweat- Recap! {Giveaway}

On Monday I told you about a chat that  I co-hosted over on The Motherhood.  Read about the chat here.   We spoke about what we somewhat are experts on: Tweens.

My 6 day old teenager has made me an experienced mother in so many things.  His tween years were made for the memory books. Seriously, I can’t wait for the teenage years. Insert sarcasm… NOW!

We had the pleasure chatting with renowned parenting expert Rosalind Wiseman. Read a summary of the chat here. It was a wonderful experience to chat with mom who have kids the same age as I do.  We had the same struggles and challenges.  We all frown at the same behavior and chuckled at the weird species we call our tweens.  We covered the lazy student, the excuses, the gross smell from their shoes and even spoke about the seriousness of  bullying.  I felt like as if I was speaking with old time friends.

Rosalind Wiseman will be appearing with Anderson Cooper and Dr. Phil at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 9 and 14 (check local listings for channels) and talking about Bullying. I her blog post, the “Stop Bullying: Speak Up“  Rosalind talks about this campaign being near and dear to her heart.

Starting today, you can join a powerful anti-bullying campaign that truly has the potential to change lives and make our children safe from bullying. It’s the “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” campaign and pledge. If you are someone who cares about the safety of all children, I hope you will take a few minutes to read and sign this pledge.- Rosalind Wiseman

With all the heartbreaking stories we hear about kids and bullying, this is one campaign I am proud to be part of.

Teaming up with Unilever and The Motherhood, I have a cute giveaway!

I didn’t really have any problems when my 3 boys were tweens. The trouble began about 17 when they wanted to hang out with friends until the wee hours.

I have no tweens yet, but I believe that the biggest challenge is definitely peer pressure, you can see it among pre-schoolers, a very scary thing.

My biggest challenge has been being a mother, really is not anything easy and it always helps ahy without someone advises you and tells you to do, but in my case thank God and my Mother’s intuition I’ve achieved so far out victorious, I have 2 babys and very healthy. thank God.

Mine was a good-hearted, super smart and talented kid. However, when he and his friends came in from a hot day…whew! I used to call it BS–Boy Sweat!

The biggest problem seems to be the influence of friends whose parents give their children free rein.

  14. Karen Mead says: September 22, 2011

    The biggest issue is homework.

Biggest problem is them thinking they are already grown up and should be allowed to do more than they are.

I have no tweens yet, but in a few years I believe it might be school work!

  20. deb walls says: September 22, 2011

Even though my girls are older, the tween years were not that long ago – i’d sty my biggest challenge was trying to get through to them that we were there age at one time and did know what we were talking about.

  21. Rebecca says: September 22, 2011

I think the biggest challenge for tweens is managing peer pressure.
