The wonder of D23!

D23 is long gone now, yet as I blog on Disneylandia al Dia, the special Disney feeling comes back all over again.  Almost 2 weeks ago, big time fans of Disney came far and wide to see what’s been happening with the mouse.

Since blogging for Disneylandia, my love for Disney has grown.  Although I know I will never get to the level of a certain fellow blogger, deep in my heart I hold Disneyland near and dear to my corazón.

This was my first D23 ever.  It was a little over whelming at first.  There was so much to do and see.

The first day actually, my little nena was invited to take part in the celebration of  the 2011 Disney Legends ceremony.

5 girls were selected to participate in a ceremony in which they presented one of the new limited edition designer collector dolls to newly inducted Disney Legends that have each lent their voices, whether speaking or singing, to a Disney Princess and in doing so helped create some of the most beloved characters in modern day animation. Among them;

Actress and singer Anika Noni Rose-Tiana

Tony Award-winning actress and singer Lea Salonga- Jasmine and Fa Mulan in Mulan

Actress and Singer Paige O’Hara- Belle

Actress and Singer- Jodi Benson- Ariel

Actress Linda Larkin- voice of Princess Jasmine
The ceremony took place back stage. All of the little girls there were daughters of local bloggers.  The girls were in princess heaven.  My daughter was privileged enough to present the Tiana doll to Anika Noni Rose.

The story behind the picture.  My nena got a massive case of stage freight right before they were to go in front of the news crew.   Sweet Anika went to where my daughter was hiding and talked her way into my daughter’s heart and to the front.  How amazingly cool was that?  I will cherish the 100 plus photos I took of that moment.

My next amazing experience was when my daughter got to take a picture with non other than the biggest super star of the Philippines,  Lea Salonga.  As you may know, my husband is Filipino.  When I told him that his second (to me) true love was going to meet Lea Salonga… the phone went silent. lol!!!   Here they are!

Super proud momma moment.  After the girls had their pictures taken with the stars, we headed off to the expo floor.  From Disney Animation Studios to the Disney store, every aspect/branch/institute of the Walt Disney Company was present. There is so much to say and mention it will take a really long post to get it all in.  I won’t do that to you.  But, I have to mention one of the coolest thing there.

“Kinect: Disneyland Adventures”

“Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” is literally your ticket to the magical world of Disneyland park, accessed right from your living room whenever you want.

Using the controller free power of Kinect,  “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” allows you to explore Disneyland park at your own pace, enjoy attractions, engage in challenging quests, and interact with beloved Disney characters using your full body and your voice.

I’m telling you guys, I was SUPER impressed with this game.  I actually got to try it out.  It is so much fun. Being a regular visitor to the park, it’s so cool to actually walk through the whole park.  It’s like as if you are at Disneyland. AMAZING! You even get to interact with some of the popular Disney characters.  You can even get a hug!  I have nothing but high praises for the developers of the game.  Great job, guys!

Disneyland Adventures for Kinect will be out by the time the holidays come rolling by. I can’t wait!

Again, Disney… you have managed to make my dreams come true. Gracias…
